Chameleons and Chromatophores
In order for a Chameleon to change it's color, it relies on a special organelle known as a chromatophore!
Chromatophores Chromatophores are a special type of pigment containing organelle. These chromatophores absorb reflected and scattered light from different cells and tissues in the body. For all ectotherms, species that can't generate their own body heat, this is how they change color!
